Ginkgo biloba, commonly known as ginkgo or maiden tree, is an ancient species of tree native to China. Belonging to the Ginkgoaceae family, it is revered for its distinctive fan-shaped leaves and is the only surviving member of its genus, virtually unchanged for millions of years. Although ginkgo is primarily known for its nutraceutical use in memory enhancement, it has a rich history in traditional landscaping and is valued for its hardy nature, particularly in urban environments. Interestingly, ginkgo trees can live for up to a thousand years, epitomising endurance and resilience.
